What we built
A mobile-friendly, barcode-driven picking system that replaced entirely paper-based warehouse picking — deployed as an installable web app so staff use it directly from phones already in their pockets, with no app-store dependency.
Paper lists hide errors until the order has already shipped.
The client was running warehouse picking entirely on paper pick lists, with stock counts tracked in a spreadsheet updated manually at the end of each day. Picking errors — wrong item, wrong quantity — had no way of being caught until a customer opened the box.

Staff worked from printed pick lists. Stock counts lived in a spreadsheet that was only as accurate as the last manual update — often a full day behind actual warehouse activity. There was no shared, real-time record between what staff were physically picking and what the office believed was in stock.

Every pick is confirmed by barcode scan before it counts as complete. Stock levels update the moment a pick happens — visible immediately to every device connected to the system, not just at the end of the day. Purchase orders import directly, so picking staff work from the same source data as the rest of the business.

Camera-based barcode scanning
Standard smartphone cameras confirm each pick — no dedicated scanner hardware needed.
Sideline handling
Partial picks and exceptions get tracked explicitly, not lost in a margin note on a paper list.
Live stock sync
Every device sees the same real-time stock number, updated the instant a pick happens.
PO import & picklist export
Purchase orders import directly, and picklists export as a shareable record.
Password-protected record deletion
Corrections require explicit authorization, protecting the integrity of the shared record.

A full oversight view for management, separate from the pick-only staff interface.

The system replaces a process where stock accuracy depended on someone remembering to update a spreadsheet, with one where every pick updates the shared record immediately. It's currently in daily use on the warehouse floor for the client this was built for.
